◾️What do you use to shoot travel videos?
The reason why we were able to preserve this fantastic drive “as is.”
For the April 2024 trip, I used the Insta360 Ace Pro .
Active HDR was effective even in foggy off-road conditions where image stabilization and brightness were concerns.
I was able to record footage of my drive through a fantastical landscape surprisingly easily.
◾️Stands still even on bumpy roads
What I want you to pay particular attention to in this video is Cut 2 .
Even though it's running on rough roads,
It's amazing how stable it is with the "Image Stabilization: Low" setting .
The angle of view is natural and there is no sense of forced correction.
◾️Shooting settings and mounting position (example)
All images were shot with "Color: Standard," "Dewarp: On," and "Image Stabilization: Low."
-
Cut 1: Mounted on the hood (subjective foreground)
-
Cut 2: Mounted on the roof (ideal for vibration verification)
-
Cut 3: Mounted on the rear gate (view from driving away)
It does not support LOG shooting,
To be honest , the quality of the images that can be produced without changing the settings is so high that it blows that away.
◾️This is the essence of the Ace Pro's appeal.
-
Image stabilization for peace of mind even on rough roads
-
Natural color and contrast even in low light conditions
-
Compact and lightweight, it can be installed anywhere on the vehicle
-
Little to no preparation or post-processing required
In terms of the true value of an action camera - "never missing a moment" - the Ace Pro was a tool that came pretty close to my ideal.
▶️ For those considering:
"I want to record my travels in a relaxed yet beautiful way."
For those people, I recommend this combination.
Instead of wasting time worrying about the settings, focus on the scenery at the end of the road.
