Camping in New Zealand, where pristine nature remains, can frankly be quite challenging (which, in turn, provides favorable conditions for designing and developing tents). New Zealand is often described as having "four seasons in one day." Thanks to its long and narrow north-to-south shape, neighboring countries call it the nation with the most diverse weather conditions in the world. This country, with its full range of weather conditions, is truly ideal for developing rooftop tents.
Strong sun, wind, snow, and heavy rain. The rooftop tents developed by Feldon Shelter over many years at their New Zealand-based factory not only boast durability against the worst weather conditions but also provide a solution for everyone to easily enjoy the outdoors.
Feldon Shelter's unique dome-shaped roof prevents water from pooling on the roof and stops leaks. The curvature of the roof is also excellent in terms of aerodynamics, boasting high wind resistance.
To ensure comfort inside the tent, meticulous attention has been paid to waterproofing. The canvas is specially treated for waterproofing, and seams stitched with waxed thread are taped to achieve a higher seal.
Also, considering the strong New Zealand sunlight, the Crow's Nest tent uses a ripstop fabric made from a polyester/cotton blend, making it highly resistant to UV rays and durable. Reinforced double stitching and sturdy YKK zippers are used throughout the product, along with an aluminum reinforced frame and marine-grade stainless steel hardware, ensuring high durability over a long period.
This rooftop tent, boasting the highest quality on the market, is equipped with carefully selected, state-of-the-art safety features. From storage pockets (for shoes and small items) at the base of the tent to ceiling storage straps and convenient internal storage pockets, ample storage space is ensured. A lightweight retractable stainless steel ladder, easy-to-use one-touch hand tools, and excellent ventilation functions allow for comfortable camping and full enjoyment of adventures.
Feldon Shelter's uniquely developed queen-size, high-density foam ErgoCell mattress (60mm thick) is large enough for two adults to rest comfortably. Even very tall individuals will find ample comfortable space.
The bottom, sides, and corners of the mattress are excellently waterproofed. Rest well on a soft, comfortable bed and soothe the fatigue of a day's journey. Sleep deprivation caused by bumpy ground or rocks will be completely eliminated.
Installation Method and Details
It can be installed on any vehicle, from small 2-door hatchbacks to robust large trucks. While the tent itself is very easy to install, it's important to carefully consider which side the tent will open. The rear, side, or front of the vehicle can be used as the tent's entrance. Once that's decided, all you need is a roof rack (or carrier) with a dynamic load capacity of 75kg or more.
However, if your vehicle is tall (height from the road surface to the top of the roof rack is 2m or more), a separate extension ladder will be required.

- Feldon Shelter's original storage pockets for shoes and small items (located at the base) are convenient for extra space. They protect dirty shoes from rain and wind. The bottom of these storage pockets features a ventilated design, making them ideal for drying wet shoes.
- Feldon Shelter's original pocket-stored spring poles (located at the base) make access even easier. Now you don't have to worry about forgetting your spring poles.
- Durable PVC travel cover. Areas requiring high durability are reinforced with a 3-layer panel. Feldon Shelter's original roll-up storage system is adopted.
- All internal tent frames are made of aluminum, and hinges and fixtures use marine-grade stainless steel, achieving long durability and superior strength. No plastic is used whatsoever.
- Larger hinges are used compared to typical rooftop tents, allowing mattresses and pillows to be stored inside the tent while traveling.
- Internal storage pockets for small items such as snacks, cell phones, and flashlights.
- Easy-to-use hand tools and mounting hardware make installation/removal and transfer to another vehicle simple.
