Break free from camping where you're constantly busy pounding pegs and setting up poles, and embark on a more liberated journey. The two-person roof tent "Crow's Nest" from New Zealand-based Feldon Shelter is one piece of equipment that makes this wish a reality.

With a simple motion of unzipping and pulling out the ladder, a private base detached from the ground unfolds on your car in just a few minutes. By minimizing the effort required for setup, it highlights the free time that should naturally be there.

What to choose, and what to shed? The rational choice of a roof tent quietly transforms the quality of outdoor play.

The Crow's Nest Extended tent includes all the features and equipment of the Crow's Nest Regular tent, in addition to unique features and state-of-the-art materials.

Crow's Nest Extended (2-person rooftop tent) features:

- The tent annex and rainfly cover the ladder entry, providing a sheltered area. The tent annex also has windows and openings (mesh) allowing enjoyment of the great outdoors.

- Feldon Shelter's original windows offer not only a 360-degree panoramic view but are also designed with aerodynamics in mind, providing excellent safety in strong winds.

- Feldon Shelter's original honeycomb cell structure provides approximately three times the strength of conventional rooftop tents, offering superior impact resistance.

- Feldon Shelter's original durable mesh storage space at the base is ideal as an extra area for drying wet camping gear.

- Feldon Shelter's original dome-shaped roof design provides ample internal height compared to conventional rooftop tents. It prevents rainwater from accumulating on the roof and is also designed with aerodynamics in mind, offering excellent wind resistance.

- Feldon Shelter's original shoe and accessory storage pockets (equipped at the base) are convenient for extra space. They protect dirty shoes from rain and wind. The bottom of these storage pockets features a ventilated design, making them ideal for drying wet shoes.

- Feldon Shelter's original pocket-stored spring poles (equipped at the base) make access even easier. Now there's no need to worry about misplacing your spring poles.

- Durable PVC travel cover. Areas requiring high durability are reinforced with 3-layer panels. Feldon Shelter's original roll-up storage system is adopted.

- All internal tent frames are made of aluminum, with hinges and fittings made of marine-grade stainless steel, ensuring long durability and superior strength. No plastic is used.

- Larger hinges than typical rooftop tents allow mattresses and pillows to be stored inside the tent while driving.

- Internal storage pockets for small items such as snacks, phones, and flashlights.

- Easy-to-use hand tools and mounting hardware make installation/removal and transfer to another vehicle simple.

- High-density foam ErgoCell mattress (60mm thick). Features a removable 100% cotton mattress cover, a waterproof ripstop polyester bottom, and waterproof treatment at the corners to prevent condensation. Comfortable for tall individuals (approx. 2m).

- Adjustable retractable stainless steel ladder. An extended ladder for larger vehicles is also available as an option. - Uses highly durable YKK zippers.
- Uses New Zealand marine-grade 316 stainless steel eyelets.
- Highly sealed power outlet with Velcro ensures secure cable connection from the car.

- Insect mesh equipped on windows, doors, and vents.
- Insect mesh on windows and doors can be opened and closed with zippers.
- High-strength 40mm straps (with Velcro and marine-grade stainless steel D-rings).
- Spare fabric bag (convenient for repairing tents, rainflies, and mesh)

NEW ZEALAND

Camping in the untouched wilderness of New Zealand can be challenging (which, in turn, makes for ideal conditions for designing and developing tents). New Zealand is described as having "four seasons in one day." Its long, narrow landmass also contributes to its reputation among neighboring countries as having some of the most diverse weather conditions in the world. This country, with its full range of weather conditions, is truly ideal for developing rooftop tents.

Strong sunlight, wind, snow, and heavy rain. Feldon Shelter's rooftop tents, developed over many years at their New Zealand-based factory, not only boast durability against the worst weather conditions but also offer a solution that allows everyone to easily enjoy the outdoors.

Feldon Shelter's unique dome-shaped roof prevents water accumulation and leakage from the roof. The curved roof design also offers excellent aerodynamics and high wind resistance.

To ensure comfort inside the tent, meticulous attention has been paid to waterproofing. The canvas is specially waterproofed, and seams are taped with waxed thread for enhanced sealing.

Considering New Zealand's strong sunlight, the Crow's Nest tent uses a polyester/cotton blend ripstop fabric, making it highly UV resistant and durable. Reinforced double stitching and robust YKK zippers are used throughout the product, along with an aluminum reinforced frame and marine-grade stainless steel hardware, ensuring long-term durability.

This top-quality rooftop tent on the market is equipped with carefully selected, state-of-the-art safety features. Ample storage space is provided by storage pockets at the base of the tent (for shoes and small items), ceiling storage straps, and convenient internal storage pockets. A lightweight retractable stainless steel ladder, easy one-touch hand tools, and excellent ventilation functions ensure comfortable camping and full enjoyment of adventures.

Feldon Shelter's uniquely developed queen-size high-density foam ErgoCell mattress (60mm thick) is large enough for two adults to rest comfortably. Even very tall individuals will find ample comfortable space. The bottom, sides, and corners of the mattress are highly waterproof. Rest comfortably on the soft, comfortable bed and recover from the day's journey. Say goodbye to sleep loss caused by uneven ground and rocks.

Mounting Method and Details

It can be installed on any vehicle, from small 2-door hatchbacks to robust large trucks. While the tent installation itself is very simple, careful consideration should be given to which side the tent will open. The tent entrance can be at the rear, side, or front of the vehicle. Once decided, all that's needed is a roof rack (or carrier) with a dynamic load capacity of 75kg or more.

However, for tall vehicles (where the height from the road surface to the top of the roof rack is 2m or more), an extension ladder is required separately as an option.

The maximum load capacity of the Crow's Nest rooftop tent is 300kg. Product Specifications

Considering the Crow’s Nest Extended?

Q. Who is the Crow's Nest Extended suitable for?
A. It is suitable for those who prioritize ease of entry and exit in rain or snow, ample space around the entrance, and creating a comfortable area under the tent. While the sleeping area size is similar to a regular double bed, the extended rain-shelter at the rear provides extra space for shoes and luggage, easier access, and more comfortable time spent under the tent.

Q. What is the difference between the Regular and Extended models?
A. The Regular model is simple, easy to handle, and designed for use without requiring pegging down. The Extended model has an extended rain-shelter at the rear, which can be used to cover the entrance area. The Extended model offers more benefits for those who need easier entry and exit in rain or snow, temporary storage for wet shoes and small items, or want to combine lights and gear under the tent.

Q. Does the Extended model require pegging down?
A. The Extended model may require pegging down depending on the situation to properly secure the extended rain-shelter. It's best to plan for pegging down if there is wind or if you want to set up the rain-shelter neatly.

Q. What are the advantages of choosing the Extended model?
A. The main advantage is the ease of use around the entrance. The extended rain-shelter at the rear provides more flexibility when entering or exiting in the rain, temporarily storing shoes and small items, or integrating lights and gear under the tent. It's suitable for those who want to enjoy the space around their car, not just for sleeping, once they arrive at the campsite.

Q. How does it differ from the Family size?
A. The Extended model is based on a double bed size, suitable for two adults, with an added rain-shelter around the entrance. The Family model is a king-size equivalent, emphasizing interior space, and is more suitable for families or those who prioritize spaciousness.

Q. Is weight a concern?
A. Yes, it is. The Crow's Nest Extended weighs approximately 60kg, so please check your vehicle manufacturer's official roof load capacity, rack weight, and tent body weight. It's important to consider not only the rack but also whether the vehicle can safely support it while driving.

Q. What type of rack is needed for installation?
A. You will need crossbars, a roof rack, or a flat rack suitable for your vehicle. Please check not only the rack's load capacity but also your vehicle manufacturer's official load capacity. The ease of use will also vary depending on the bar position and the direction in which the tent opens.

Q. How should I handle it during rainy weather or the rainy season?
A. It is important not to leave it closed for long periods when wet after use. After rain or during humid periods, open it on a sunny day to air it out and dry it thoroughly.

Q. What if I'm unsure if it fits my car?
A. Knowing your car's make, model year, grade, whether it has roof rails, the rack you plan to install, and the height of your usual parking space will help in checking compatibility. If you have concerns, please contact us before purchasing.
