With accessory tracks all around and an optional rack that can hold up to 30kg of gear on top when deployed, adventuring has never been easier.

Built Tough

The Hawk's Nest V2 is built tough with an ultra-durable full aluminum shell and marine-grade 316 stainless steel components. Protected with a commercial-grade Dulux® Duralloy® shell coating, it provides a rooftop home capable of handling any adventure, be it sun, rain, salt, sand, or snow.

Hawk's Nest Model Guide

This Low-Pro model of the Hawk's Nest V2 offers the slimmest tent shell in the series. The only compromise is slightly less bedding storage space when closed. For a taller shell option, also consider the Standard Model.

Easy Setup & Adventure

Simply open two lockable latches, and the marine-grade stainless steel gas struts do all the work. The Hawk's Nest V2 is fully set up in under 30 seconds, making it one of the easiest rooftop options on the market.

A mobile telescopic ladder and two ladder entry options are always available, allowing for easy access regardless of your vehicle or campsite setup.

Low Profile & Highly Customizable

Carry all your essentials on top with various tent-mounted rack options. There are plenty of accessories for tie-downs, securing loads, and mounting gear.

The heavy-duty marine-grade stainless steel gas struts can hold up to 30kg of gear on top when deployed and camping. This means less time removing gear and more time enjoying. The modular design doesn't stop there, with multiple accessory mounting T-tracks all around and on top of the aluminum shell for attaching awnings, camp lights, shoe pockets, and more.

Designed & Proven in New Zealand's Harsh Conditions

From the intense sun of Northland to the heavy winds and rain of the south, the Hawk's Nest has been rigorously tested in all environments, proving itself as a true four-season rooftop home. Every element is developed here in NZ for NZ conditions.

Featuring Feldon Shelter's trusted NZ-spec X-canvas, the Hawk's Nest tent body and rainfly are extremely durable. The materials used include Japanese YKK zippers, European COATS thread (the same heavy-duty thread used for boat sails), and NZ-made bungee cords, all guaranteeing long-term reliability. Additionally, all seams are downturned and heat-sealed, ensuring waterproofness in the harshest conditions. This gives you the confidence to take on further expeditions and all conditions.

The built-in Feldon Shelter exclusive ErgoCell dual-stage mattress provides a comfortable sleeping space for two people. After a long drive, you can relax in a soft, dry, and flat bed, eliminating the need to sleep on rocks or tree roots.

Materials & Construction

• Tent Body: 360gsm Polyester X-Canvas with UV, mold, and mildew resistance, and PU treatment for waterproofing, making it tear-resistant, waterproof, and weather-resistant in harsh NZ conditions.
• Stitching & Components: COATS UV-resistant thread (heavy-duty thread used for yacht sails), Japanese YKK zippers, double-reinforced and heat-sealed seams, marine-grade 316 stainless steel eyelets, NZ-made bungee cords (aids in packing away), and covered with high-quality 150gsm mosquito mesh.
• Tent Shell: Full aluminum shell with Dulux® Duralloy® powder coat finish, featuring a fully TIG welded 25mm internal frame, lightweight yet incredibly durable aluminum honeycomb panel, reinforced with 10 reinforcing backbones.
• Hardware: Precision CNC-machined aluminum latches, ladder brackets, mounting components, accessories, and badges. Marine-grade 316 stainless steel hardware and industrial-grade rubber sealing methods ensure the entire tent is rust-proof and waterproof, capable of handling salt, sun, rain, and snow in any environment.
• Gas Struts: Heavy-duty marine-grade 316 stainless steel gas struts capable of withstanding winds up to 45 knots.
• Mattress: 60mm thick dual-layer ErgoCell mattress (high-density, comfortable foam with an anti-condensation layer). Features a waterproof underside and side panels, and the cover is machine washable.

Roof Rack & Vehicle Requirements

• Roof Rack Requirements: A 3-bar roof rack system or a roof platform with at least 6 mounting points.
• The spacing between the front and rear roof racks (or front and rear mounting points for a roof platform) must be at least 900mm.
• Vehicle Requirements: Both your vehicle and roof rack system must have a minimum dynamic load rating of 100kg.

The Hawk's Nest series of rooftop tents are ideal for large SUVs, 4x4s, and vans.

Note for Double Cab Utes:
Requires a suitable canopy with an attachable roof rack or platform. It cannot be mounted to both the vehicle body and canopy/tray simultaneously. Additionally, the cab of a ute often does not have sufficient mounting length.
