Welcome to the next generation of rooftop tents! Introducing the Hawk's Nest 2-person aluminum rooftop tent - Wide
This wide model of the Hawk's Nest provides more internal space for bedding when closed and traveling, thanks to its taller shell compared to the Low-Pro model.
The Hawk's Nest's robust and durable all-aluminum construction is incredibly low-profile, creating an aerodynamic roof living space that can be deployed and ready for camp in under 30 seconds.
With accessory tracks attachable all around the tent and an optional tent-mounted rack that can hold up to 35kg of essential adventure gear when deployed, adventure has never been easier.

Rugged Design
The Hawk's Nest is ruggedly built with an ultra-durable all-aluminum shell and marine-grade stainless steel components. This means your adventures can tackle whatever ruggedness comes their way with this rooftop tent.
Combined with Feldon Shelter's latest X-Canvas (new fabric name) technology and using true quality materials sourced from New Zealand and worldwide, the Hawk's Nest has been developed and proven to handle New Zealand's harshest conditions. Plus, it all comes with Feldon Shelter's reliable 2-year "NZProof" warranty.
Hawk's Nest Model Guide

Effortless Setup and Adventure
Simply unlatch two easy-to-use lockable fasteners and let the marine-grade stainless steel gas struts (reinforced dampers) do the rest. The Hawk's Nest is fully set up in under 30 seconds, making it one of the easiest rooftop tents to deploy.
With a movable telescopic ladder and two ladder entry attachments, you can easily access the tent—just prepare your vehicle and campsite.
Highly Customizable Low-Profile
Marine-grade 316 gas struts (reinforced dampers) allow you to store up to 35kg of gear on top during deployment and while camping. This means less time loading and unloading gear and more time enjoying. The Hawk's Nest design isn't just about multiple accessory mounting T-tracks all around the aluminum shell for attaching awnings and camp lights.
Inside, you'll find an insulated roof panel with even more convenient cargo storage nets and storage hooks. There are customizable rope track mounts for optional storage pockets and organizers (coming soon).
Partnering with Front Runner Outfitters, we offer tent-mounted rack options, allowing you to bring everything you need for your journey. Many tie-downs, cargo securing, and gear mounting accessories are available.
Designed and Proven for New Zealand's Harshest Conditions
From the shining sun of Northland to the howling winds and rain of the Deep South, the Hawk's Nest has been rigorously tested and proven through it all. Each element has been intentionally developed here in New Zealand for New Zealand conditions.
Featuring the brand-new X-Canvas, the Hawk's Nest tent body and rainfly are ruggedly constructed using Feldon Shelter's proven NZ Proof building methods. We've sourced functional gear, genuine YKK zippers from Japan, COATS threads from Europe (the same used for boat sails), and NZ-made bungees. The list goes on. With downward-facing, heat-sealed seams throughout, the Hawk's Nest is designed for weather resistance even in the harshest conditions, giving you the confidence to evolve and tackle everything.
Feldon Shelter's unique built-in ErgoCell dual-stage mattress comfortably fits two people with plenty of room to stretch out. After a long day, there's nothing better than laying on a soft, dry, flat bed. You can say goodbye to restless nights spent sleeping on rocks and roots.

Roof Rack and Vehicle Requirements
Roof Rack Requirements: A 3-bar roof rack system or roof platform with 6 mounting points on the vehicle's roof. (For crossbar types, 3 bars are preferable to 2. The front and rear bars provide fixation, and the middle bar acts as a support bar.)
The spacing between the front and rear bars (or the length of the roof platform) must be 1400mm or more.
Vehicle Requirements: Both the vehicle and the roof rack system require a minimum dynamic load rating of 100kg.
The Hawk's Nest rooftop tent is ideal for large SUVs, 4x4s, and vans.
A quick note regarding most double cab mid-size trucks (Hilux, Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado): a load-bearing canopy with a suitable canopy-mounted roof rack, or a rack, is required. The tent cannot be mounted across both the cab and the canopy/tray to avoid individual flexing of the chassis. Mid -size trucks themselves also typically do not provide sufficient mounting length.
